Mayra Rodriguez-Mohamed, Ph.D, Hon is a Master and Teacher of the Usui, Tibetan & Karuna systems of Reiki and is regarded as one of Latin America's most prominent healers. She is also a Kabalistic and a Medical Qigong Healer. For over 15 years she has traveled to remote places such as India, Egypt, China, and Japan to deepen her knowledge and has trained in Medical Qigong, Reiki and Kabalistic Healing and other systems of Energy Medicine with prominent Masters around the world, such as: Master Zi Sheng Wang, who is renowned in Tibet and China for his ability to transmit healing energy to tens of thousands at a time, he is also the 12th in line of succession in the lineage of Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism; Yeshi Dhonden, the Dalai Lama’s physician and Master Ken, who for 40 years has been the healer of prominent world figures such as Tina Turner. 

 

In 2004 Mayra Rodriguez-Mohamed was nominated and won two prestigious awards from the Argentina Branch of the World Health Organization in an event sponsored by the UNESCO. This organization conferred the Honorary Doctorate for the advancement of Complementary/Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies in the treatment of cancer, and the International Merit for Educational Excellence. In 2005 she received two nominations by the WHO: "The International Award for Excellence in Reiki" and an International Honorary Doctorate in Reiki. She received both awards, making her the first professional in CAM history to have two Honorary Doctorates. She was also nominated for the American Cancer Society’s Lane Adams Quality of life Award.

 

She has taught at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Campus, has been actively training medical doctors, and her courses have been selected to be part of the Continuing Education Program of the Medical Doctors and Surgeon’s Association of Puerto Rico. In 2007, Rodriguez-Mohamed teamed up with the American Cancer Society in Puerto Rico to integrate Energy Medicine in the management of the disease.

 

In the past Rodriguez-Mohamed participated in many special projects such as CONCRA, where she taught women with HIV to do energy work; the Breast Cancer Congress, in Puerto Rico, where she gave a lecture to over 600 cancer patients; the 911 Rescue and Recovery Volunteers Program in N.Y., where she offered a lecture to over 100 participants and energy medicine applications free of charge.

 

She was also an active member of the “Better Health Campaign” Committee. This committee was responsible for the creation, by the U.S. Congress, of the CAM (Complementary/Alternative Medicine) Caucus in 2004. In 2013 she was a nominee for a White House sponsored award in the field of Health and Prevention. In January 2014 she was featured in Centerpoint Now, a publication of The World Council of Peoples for the United Nations.

 

Dr. Rodriguez-Mohamed is the President and Executive Director of The Holistic Therapies Center in New York and The Puerto Rico Reiki Institute. In addition she lectures internationally, regularly participates in radio and T.V. shows and has collaborated with a great number of prestigious publications.  Most recently, Dr. Rodriguez-Mohamed participated in 67th Annual United Nations DPI/NGO Conference “We the Peoples...Together Finding Global Solutions for Global Problems” where she presented her work.

 

Dr. Rodríguez-Mohamed has a thriving practice and offers private sessions in New York, Puerto Rico and all over the world. She is  the President and Executive Director of The Holistic Therapies Center in New York and The Puerto Rico Reiki Institute.
